Implementation of Hospital reservoir tanks control today. The tricky task of regulating inlet flow rates based on a meter pulse.
Our customer approached us with a problem, the supplying water authority needed them to throttle back the flow rate of mains water into their site. With only very short lengths of clear pipe run, a standard turbine or ultra-sonic flow meter would be out of the question. So we checked out the pulsed input from the existing boundary meter and found that the pulse resolution was adequate to measure real time flow rates. The calculation and control software was written in advance and today we have a chance to test.
Another interesting application for the humble BMS engineer to master!
